Certification Levels

Telos offers a comprehensive pathway to develop your lay counseling expertise with two certification levels. Explore each level individually or opt for a bundled package for a complete learning experience.

Both levels consist of three biblically centered courses designed to integrate faith and practical skills for effective ministry. Together, they provide a well-rounded foundation for supporting others in their faith and healing journeys, addressing personal and relational challenges through a Christ-centered approach.


  • Introductory Level: This level provides foundational pastoral care and counseling skills grounded in biblical principles. It equips you to offer compassionate support to others while recognizing when to refer cases to specialized professionals. Upon completion, learners will receive the Certified Lay Counselor certificate.

  • Advanced Level: Building on the introductory level, this advanced program delves into specialized topics such as trauma counseling, marriage and family therapy, and pastoral leadership. It equips learners with expert-level skills for pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance. Upon completion, learners will earn the Certified Biblical Counselor certificate.
